In part one of this series we told you how to prepare for a successful car buying experience. Now we’re ready to get down to the nitty gritty. What About Your Trade?

 

Sometimes we talk to people who are afraid if they come in with a trade, it will reduce their ability to get a fair price. They wait until it’s time to sign the paperwork, then they bring it up and the process has to start over. If that’s a concern, one tactic is to be up-front about your trade but tell your representative you want to negotiate the price of your new car separately from your trade-in value.

When To Say Yes

 

Avoid buyer’s remorse by doing your research ahead of time. Know what your trade is worth and the true market value of the vehicle you’re buying. Check financing options so you know you’re getting the lowest interest rate available for your credit. Then, choose a car you love.
