Active Safety Technology
The best way to stay safe on the road is to keep accidents from happening. Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE is a collection of technologies that help drivers spot danger well in advance and avoid impending collisions. Each operates with watchmaker precision that always has your safety in mind. These are just a few of our safety features:
- Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) – When you drive at night, this system turns your low beams as you steer, so the light shines in the direction you’re turning.
- High-Beam Control (HBC) – At night your car automatically switches on your brights so you can see what’s ahead. It also dims them when it senses an approaching car or you get near taillights. Click to see a video demonstration.
- Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) – If you start to drift from your lane, an alarm will alert you so you can make a correction and avoid the possibility of impact.
- Acceleration Control – If you step on the gas by mistake and there’s an obstacle in front of you, your car sends an alert and stops you from taking off.
When Accidents Happen
Sometimes accidents happen no matter how safely you drive or what technology comes with your vehicle. These technologies protect you and your passengers when the worst happens.
- SKYACTIV-Body – It’s lightweight for driving enjoyment and superior handling, but your Mazda’s body is also extremely strong. The front end has a multi-load path design to disperse collision shock and high-tensile steel around critical cabin areas. The doors contain side impact bars, the underbody has a strengthened frame and the fuel tank is designed for safety in case of impact.
- Front seats – The most common auto injuries involve the head and neck. Our seat structure is designed to reduce shock and prevent damage.
- ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors – Protect your tiny passengers with this attachment point that makes it easy to tether your safety seat.
