Which East Texas Mazda is Right for You? Take Our Quiz

Sometimes you see a car and it’s love at first sight. You have to have it, and no other car will do. We get that a lot here at Velocity Mazda. Other times you have a basic idea what you want, but you need specific features. You do a lot of research to figure out which vehicle is going to be the best fit for your needs and your budget. We get a lot of that too. When East Texas buyers look at Mazda, every model has looks, extensive safety features and an incredible driving experience. We’re happy to show you different models in person and explain the features of each. Here’s a quick guide for getting started. Step 1 -- Evaluate Your Needs The single Tyler college student shopping for his first car has different requirements from the business professional with three children who also drives carpool. Ask yourself these questions to start narrowing down your hunt for your perfect ride.
  • How many passengers do you typically transport? Small cars may advertise they can fit three in the back seat, but the center spot can be uncomfortable if your passengers have long limbs. However, if you’re at a stage in life when a two seater makes sense, you may want a Miata.
  • What kind of cargo space do you need? Think through a typical week. Do you transport groceries, sports equipment, pets or other bulky items?
  • What’s important to you about driving? Some people just want plenty of room to accommodate passengers and gear alongside reliable performance. To others, the driving experience is critical. The good news is, every Mazda model provides intuitive handling and a powerful connection with the road.
  • What’s your budget? Most people don’t have a stack of hundreds to take to the dealership, they need a car that fits in their budget. Our payment calculator can help you get started.
Step 2 -- Compare Models Side by Side Here’s a breakdown of what’s available on our lot right now. Its 2.5 liter SKYACTIV-G 4-cylinder engine sips gas when you’re cruising around Loop 323 and provides plenty of horsepower on the open road. We also currently have a 5-door sport in Eternal Blue Mica that won’t last long. Mazda6 – We wrote extensively about this one in our article Meet Turbocharged Precision in the New Mazda6. Mazda CX-3 – If you need the passenger and cargo space of an SUV, but you want the feel of a sports car, check out this compact crossover. I-ACTIV AWD all-wheel-drive keeps riders safe when East Texas weather changes in an instant and Kodo design makes every inch striking and well-balanced. Mazda CX-5 – This is one of Velocity Mazda’s top sellers. Almost every review you read seems amazed that a car so affordable could offer the looks, performance and driving experience this model provides. The leather-wrapped steering exudes luxury and standard cylinder deactivation provides extreme fuel efficiency. Car and Driver calls it, “the best-looking and best-driving compact crossover.” Mazda CX-9 – This is the largest Mazda SUV with room for up to seven people to sit comfortably. The MAZDA CONNECT Infotainment system keeps riders entertained and provides sporty handling, strong acceleration and competitive fuel economy. MX-5 Miata – There’s nothing like the exhilaration of driving this sporty two-door. Responsive steering makes you one with the road for a supremely satisfying driving experience. The 2018 is even lighter than previous generations, with a number of enhancements that ensure MX-5 will continue to be the best-selling roadster of all time. Step 3 -- Take This Quiz Still not sure which Mazda is just right for you? Sometimes it’s not about the number of seats or miles per gallon, it’s about who you are inside. Mazda USA created this quiz to help find your vehicle soulmate. Step 4 -- Contact East Texas Car Experts Research is a good starting point, but there’s no substitute for seeing cars in person. Velocity Mazda-Backed Drivers achieve huge success at 2024 Mazda MX-5 Cup

Velocity Mazda-backed drivers achieved remarkable success at the conclusion of the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Cup, held at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta mid October. The Round 14 podium featured a dominant performance by McCumbee McAleer team, with Gresham Wagner (No. 5) securing first place overall, followed by Nate Cicero (No. 83) in second, and Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22) claiming third place.

Alongside the champion's trophy, Wagner is awarded a grand prize of $250,000 from Mazda. After winning his first MX-5 Cup Championship in 2021, Wagner becomes only the second driver in history to achieve two MX-5 Cup titles.
Fletcher dominated the race by leading the most laps and making no mistakes, ultimately winning the final race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. However, he concludes the season in third place in the championship standings, which is still an impressive achievement for a young 17-year-old racer wrapping up his sophomore year in racing. Velocity Mazda is so proud to watch these drivers earn these achievements this year and excited to see what comes next for them!

Interior Design Changes Mazda extensively researches driver seating position and designs car interiors to make the vehicle an extension of driver bodies. Inside 2019 Mazda3, the interior is simple and elegant. The steering column has more room for adjustment, so it's easier to access for drivers of different heights. Tilting front seat cushions now come standard. Designers reduced the distance between the shifter and steering wheel to make driving safer and provide more room for cup holders. The cabin also has added insulation for reduced road noise and sumptuous new interior fabrics. The Active Driving Display has more user-friendly fonts, a digital owner's manual and an improved sound system. PowerTrain You read right earlier, you have five motor options when you pick your new Mazda3. Three of them are SKYACTIV®-G four-cylinder engines. One is the SKYACTIV®-D 1.8L inline 4 engine. Possibly the most exciting is the SKYACTIV®-X, an engine that uses "spark-controlled compression ignition" to maximize fuel economy.
