Ultimate East Texas Car Buying Guide Part 2

In part one of this series we told you how to prepare for a successful car buying experience. Now we’re ready to get down to the nitty gritty. As an East Texas car buyer, when you’re ready to move toward your next vehicle purchase, it’s time to head to Velocity Mazda to actually see and test drive that vehicle you’ve been dreaming about. There’s a lot of misinformation out there, and while we can’t say what other dealerships do, we can offer insight into how to get the best value at ours.   How Much Should You Tell The Salesman?  There’s a public perception that car dealerships are shady, and some of them are. If you search for getting the best car price, some of the online information will tell you the salesman is out to get you, so you need to act like you’re not really interested in buying a car and hide information about your trade.   The truth is, we are always up front about the car price and our special offers. We post them online, so they don’t change depending on how interested a customer seems to be. We feel privileged to be a part of the East Texas community, and selling quality cars for a fair price is just part of the way we make a difference.   If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, we’ll help you find it. If you do know, let your representative know the following:
  • Your time frame for making a purchase – Whether you need a car today or you’re looking to buy six months from now, we can help you reach your goals.
  • What trim and options you’re interested in – If keyless entry and a sun roof are deal breakers, we’ll only show you models that meet your specifications.
  • What you’re prepared to pay – Whether you’re thinking in terms of monthly payment or overall vehicle price, over or under-representing your expectations just slows things down.
What About Your Trade?  Sometimes we talk to people who are afraid if they come in with a trade, it will reduce their ability to get a fair price. They wait until it’s time to sign the paperwork, then they bring it up and the process has to start over. If that’s a concern, one tactic is to be up-front about your trade but tell your representative you want to negotiate the price of your new car separately from your trade-in value.   Ask About Incentives  Mazda USA’s website has special offers and incentives by location, so you can always see what’s currently available. Right now they have special offers for owner loyalty, military appreciation and more. Sometimes our dealership offers specials for students, AAA members etc.   When To Say Yes  Avoid buyer’s remorse by doing your research ahead of time. Know what your trade is worth and the true market value of the vehicle you’re buying. Check financing options so you know you’re getting the lowest interest rate available for your credit. Then, choose a car you love. If the vehicle you buy brings you joy, if driving feels like a little slice of heaven, you know you’ve made the right choice. At Velocity Mazda, we can help you find that car and feel good about saying yes. Contact us to find out about current specials or stop by and see us today.   Sources: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-pricing-negotiation/how-to-negotiate-a-new-car-price-effectively/https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/how-to-negotiate-the-best-price-on-a-new-carhttps://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/loans/getting-good-car-deal/https://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/10-things-you-should-tell-your-car-salesman.html   By Missy Ticer for Velocity Mazda

Velocity Mazda-Backed Drivers achieve huge success at 2024 Mazda MX-5 Cup

Velocity Mazda-backed drivers achieved remarkable success at the conclusion of the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Cup, held at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta mid October. The Round 14 podium featured a dominant performance by McCumbee McAleer team, with Gresham Wagner (No. 5) securing first place overall, followed by Nate Cicero (No. 83) in second, and Jeremy Fletcher (No. 22) claiming third place.

Alongside the champion's trophy, Wagner is awarded a grand prize of $250,000 from Mazda. After winning his first MX-5 Cup Championship in 2021, Wagner becomes only the second driver in history to achieve two MX-5 Cup titles.
Fletcher dominated the race by leading the most laps and making no mistakes, ultimately winning the final race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. However, he concludes the season in third place in the championship standings, which is still an impressive achievement for a young 17-year-old racer wrapping up his sophomore year in racing. Velocity Mazda is so proud to watch these drivers earn these achievements this year and excited to see what comes next for them!

Mind-blowing technology meets heart-breaking purity in the Mazda3 we've all been waiting for. 2019 Mazda3 Pricing and Trim Mazda3 will still come in both sedan and hatchback options, with five different available motors. In 2018, Mazda3 cost between $18,100 and $25,000 with three levels of trim and two motors. Dealers expect similar pricing in 2019. Interior Design Changes Mazda extensively researches driver seating position and designs car interiors to make the vehicle an extension of driver bodies. Inside 2019 Mazda3, the interior is simple and elegant. The steering column has more room for adjustment, so it's easier to access for drivers of different heights. Tilting front seat cushions now come standard. Designers reduced the distance between the shifter and steering wheel to make driving safer and provide more room for cup holders. The cabin also has added insulation for reduced road noise and sumptuous new interior fabrics. The Active Driving Display has more user-friendly fonts, a digital owner's manual and an improved sound system. PowerTrain You read right earlier, you have five motor options when you pick your new Mazda3. Three of them are SKYACTIV®-G four-cylinder engines. One is the SKYACTIV®-D 1.8L inline 4 engine. Possibly the most exciting is the SKYACTIV®-X, an engine that uses "spark-controlled compression ignition" to maximize fuel economy. Safety Features for 2019 Mazda3 Again, there are upgrades all around here. The 2019 Mazda3 uses infrared cameras to watch the driver's eyes, and it will alert you if it has reason to believe you're getting sleepy. 2019 Mazda3 has available front cross traffic alert, a feature that checks blind spots and lets you know if there's something you might not see. The car has optional semi-autonomous driving, with cruising and traffic support that responds to vehicles around you. If you get in an accident, in addition to all the other safety features, Mazda added a standard knee airbag. 2019 mazda3 Availability Velocity Mazda has two on the boat as we write this article.
